Moore and Little Pace Men's Basketball to Win at Mars Hill
MARS HILL, NC -- Catawba got off to an early lead and cruised to a 106-88 win over host Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday night at Stanford Arena. The Catawba Indians improve to 5-12 overall and 2-7 in the SAC, winning for just the second time since Thanksgiving. The Lions fall to 4-14 and 2-7.

Bully's Late Three-pointer Leads Women's Basketball to Conquest of Mars Hill
MARS HILL, NC -- Chloe Bully (Hannut, BELGIUM/Namur HS) drained a go-ahead three-pointer with three seconds on the clock propelling Catawba past South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill 71-69 Wednesday night at Stanford Arena. The Lady Indians now stand at 12-5 overall and 7-2 in the SAC while the Lions fall to 10-8 and 3-6.

Baseball Tabbed to Repeat as SAC Champions
ROCK HILL, SC -- Defending SAC baseball regular-season champion Catawba has been picked by the league’s coaches as the favorite to win the title again in 2012, the conference office announced on Wednesday. The Catawba Indians went 41-15 a season ago and earned a selection to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship and received eight of the 10 first-place votes.

Catawba's Athletic Training Hall of Fame to Induct Second Class on Feb. 18
Four members will be inducted into the Catawba College Athletic Training Hall of Fame on Feb. 18. The induction of the Class of 2012 will take place between noon and 2 p.m. in Peeler Crystal Lounge of the Robertson College-Community Center on campus. The inductees are (with graduation year): Jim Bradley '86 of Mebane; John Lukowski '92 of Irmo, S.C. ; Angela Shirk Sneed '93 of Mooresville; and Jeff Tucker '90 of Jensen Beach, Fla.

Men's Tennis Picked Eighth in Preseason Poll
ROCK HILL, SC -- The Catawba men’s tennis team was picked to finish eighth in the 2012 South Atlantic Conference preseason poll. The Catawba Indians placed senior Thomas Mitchell (Nanaimo, BC, CANADA/Pendleton School) on the preseason All-SAC team. Catawba returns five of its top six players from last year’s 15-9 squad which finished seventh and suffered 5-4 defeats in four of its six league losses.
