Men's Soccer drops overtime decision to Presbyterian

SALISBURY, NC -- Presbyterian's Guy Campbell (Arden, NC) scored the second of his two goals just four minutes into overtime as the Blue Hose defeated host Catawba 2-1 in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday night. Presbyterian improves to 5-5-4 overall and 5-1-1 in the SAC, while Catawba falls to 10-6 and 3-3. Catawba had broke the ice, after a scoreless first half, with 25 minutes to play as senior Jeff Shea (Ft. Langley, BC, CANADA) took a pass from Jake Pace (Salisbury, NC) to give the Tribe the lead. Presbyterian would get the tying goal with just under nine minutes to play as Campbell tallied for the first time. In overtime, Presbyterian capitalized on its only corner kick off the match as Campbell headed home the game-winner at the 94:02 mark. The win assured the Blue Hose of a top three SAC finish, while Catawba will need to defeat Tusculum on the road on Wednesday to gain a home field game in the opening round of the SAC Tournament.
