Payton Leonard Tabbed First Team All-Conference For Third Straight Season
Leonard finished his senior year by appearing in 14 games while making 13 starts. He led the team in ground balls with 58 on the year, and led the Indians with 23 caused turnovers. He also scored once and had an assist this season.
The Oak Ridge, North Carolina product wraps up his illustrious four-year career with 46 career games played, 15 goals, 4 assists, 200 ground balls, and 100 caused turnovers. Leonard is in the top-ten in Catawba College men's lacrosse history in career ground balls (10th all-time), and career caused turnovers (2nd all-time). Payton also ranks third in caused turnovers in a season when he had 35 his freshman year, and he also had the second-most caused turnovers in a game with seven back on March, 6 of 2019.
In his career, Leonard also has been tabbed a Second Team All-American by USILA, Preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine, First Team All-Region by USILA, and a three-time all conference selection. Full SAC Release
