Men's soccer rallies for 2-1 win over Wheeling Jesuit

SALISBURY, NC – Catawba scored a pair of goals in a two minute span as the Indians rallied for a 2-1 win over visiting Wheeling Jesuit University in men’s soccer action on Sunday afternoon at Frock Field. Catawba improves to 5-1-1, while the Cardinals fall to 2-5. After a scoreless first half, Cardinal Jeff Pneiwski (Spencer, OH) took a pass in the box and fired past Tribe keeper Dan Fitzgerald (Seaford, DE) at the 62:06 mark for the 1-0 lead. Catawba struck back five minutes later as Ryan Villiard (Holiday, FL) sent a cross into the goal mouth that Zay-Zay Gilewala (Monrovia, LIBERIA) knocked into the net for the equalizer. The Indians would pounce again two minutes later as Kenny Crowe (Reeders, PA) headed home another cross from Villiard in the 70th minute for the lead. Wheeling Jesuit had several chances to even the match with the best coming in the final minute, but Fitzgerald made a diving save to his left to preserve the win.
