Villiard tabbed as SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. — Catawba College sophomore midfielder Ryan Villiard (Holiday, Fla./Mitchell) is this week’s South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Villiard assisted on four of the five Catawba goals on the week as the Tribe won a pair of NCAA Division II Appalachian Region games, including their SAC opener over Mars Hill College. On Sunday, Villiard had assists on both Catawba goals as the Indians picked up a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Wheeling Jesuit (W.Va.) University. Villiard shares the Catawba team lead with four assists. Catawba (5-1-1 overall) returns to action Wednesday, hosting South Atlantic Conference foe Newberry College. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the eight sports information directors of the league. #####RELATED LINKS
