Men's Soccer Announces Six Signings For the 2008 Season


SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College men’s soccer coach, Craig Turnbull, has announced six signings for the upcoming season.  Newcomers set to join Catawba in the fall are Tim Finotti, Jr., of Hendersville, NC, Alex Koslick, of Matthews, NC, Josh Payne, of Candier, NC, Matt Price, of Burlington, NC, Carter Richardson, of Peachtree City, GA, and Kevin Sorensen, of Matthews, NC.

 Finotti, a 5-11 striker, started four years in high school with the last three at West Henderson.  He was named all-conference, all-region and All-Western N.C as a senior.  He scored seven goals and had 27 assists, which led Western N.C.  Finotti started as a freshman at McDonough (MD) High School

 Koslick, a 6-0 forward, started at Providence High School.  He was captain and all-conference as a senior and helped the Panthers to a conference title. 

 Payne, a 6-1 goalkeeper, was a three-year starter at Enka High School.  He was captain and earned the Coaches’ Award. 

 Price, a 6-0 midfielder/defender, started two years at Williams High School.  He was named all-conference and all-region as a senior, scoring six goals with five assists.  He helped the Bulldogs to a pair of conference titles and a 44-14-18 record over his career.

 Richardson, a 6-0 striker, started three years at The Woodward Academy.  He plays club soccer with Concorde South 90.  He also ran cross country and helped team to a regional title as a junior and the runner-up spot as a senior.

 Sorensen, a 6-0 midfielder, was a three-year starter at Butler High School.  He served as captain as a senior and was named team MVP.  He was also named MVP of the 2007 Ponce Tournament.
