Hot opening round helps Women's Golf to second place finish

MARSHVILLE, NC -- Catawba College’s women placed second out of four teams at the Bulldog Invitational Women’s Golf Tournament held at the 5,950-yard, par-72 Eagle Chase Golf Club. The Lady Indians led after the opening round, posting a round of 336 the third best in school history. Catawba fell back to a 356 on Tuesday, but held off both Tusculum and Anderson. Wingate shot a 325 in the final round to win by 29 shots.Sophomore Kristen Kyle (Greer, SC) led Catawba, finishing second with a two-day total of 161. She lost by one shot to Newberry’s Aubrey Mosley, who had a second-day low of 76. Aimee Davis (Salisbury, NC) placed fourth with a total of 165.
