Men's Soccer posts shutout in opening win

SALISBURY, NC – Catawba College defeated visiting Lynchburg 2-0 to open its 2002 season on Wednesday night at Frock Field. Senior David Durham (Oak Ridge, TN) made one save to earn the shutout as the Indians outshot Lynchburg 18-2. The Hornets fall to 0-2. Catawba opened the scoring in the 25th minutes as freshman Tyler Kulp (Ephrata, PA) ran down a pass from Brennan Regnar (Mebane, NC) and fired past Hornet keeper Daniel Roe (Ridgefield Park, NJ) for the 1-0 lead. In the second half, sophomore Mo Norman (Clive, IA) notched a goal as his free kick just outside the box deflected off a defender past a helpless Roe.
