Women's Tennis Inks Three for 2012-13 Season

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College women’s tennis coach, Jeff Childress, has announced three signings for the 2012-13 season.  Joining the women’s program will be Elizabeth Renteria (Miramar, FL), Rachel Rudisill (Gastonia, NC) and Lauren Sledd (Roanoke, VA).

Renteria played four years at Archbishop McCarthy.  She played #1 singles and double for the Mavericks.  Renteria was a honorable mention all-county selection.

Rudisill was a four-year standout at Highland School of Technology.  She earned all-conference honors each year and was a three-time team MVP.  She also served as captain for the Rams for two years and was the #1 seed in singles.

Sledd has been a two-year performer at Cave Springs High School.  In 2010 she was named all-district after posting a 19-0 record.  She also earned All-Timesland honors.  Sledd played volleyball for the Knights for four year, twice earning all-district honors and helping Cave Springs to the state semifinals.
