Jankowski's Dominating Performance vs. Anderson Earns SAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, SC -- For the third time this season, Catawba senior pitcher JJ Jankowski (McMurray, PA/Peters Township HS/Miama, OH) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week for baseball.  It was announced earlier this week by the league office.  Wingate outfielder Dodson McPherson earned the SAC Player of the Week honor.

Jankowski made two appearances for Catawba last week, earning a win and a save.

After closing out the Indians’ 4-3 win over Stillman on Tuesday, Jankowski was electric in a 15-2 win over Anderson on Friday, throwing eight innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out 16.

The strikeout total was just two shy of the all-time Catawba record.  On the season, Jankowski is 5-0 with 64 strikeouts in just 41 innings.  His total strikeouts number leads NCAA II while his 14.05 strikeouts per nine innings stands third in the nation.
