Hicks Earns Honorable Mention All-America Honors Ffrom the WBCA

ATLANTA, GA -- Catawba’s Dana Hicks (York, SC/Gaston Day HS) has earned honorable mention All-America honors from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).  She is only the second player to earn honors from the WBCA since Catawba moved to Division II, following Danyel Locklear in 2004.

Hicks led the South Atlantic Conference in rebounding this season at 11.9 per contest.  That currently ranks seventh in NCAA II.  Earlier this year, the senior was named to the Daktroniks All-Southeast Region team and was the SAC Player of the Year.

During her four years, Hicks posted a school record 56 double-doubles and was just the second Catawba women’s player to finishes her career with over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.  Hicks ranks second on the all-time rebounding list with 1,115 boards and sixth in scoring with 1,521 points.
