(4/4/12) Women's Lacrosse Falls at Erskine 18-7 DUE WEST, SC -- Erskine topped visiting Catawba 18-7 in women’s lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Huggins Field. The Flying Fleet improve to 4-8, while the Catawba Indians fall to 2-8. Catawba got three goals from Ebony Mills (Harrison, ME/Oxford Hills HS/Mount Ida). Her first goal, two minutes into the second half, pulled the Lady Indians within 7-3. Erskine then scored eight of the next nine goals to pull away. Erskine jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Myra Clark (Newark, DE/Glasgow HS/Cecil CC) tallied for the Lady Indians at the 8:46 mark. Chelsey Ferraro (Tampa, FL/Plant HS) scored just before the end of the half to close the lead to 7-2. Mills also had eight draw controls and three ground balls for Catawba. Ferraro had two goals and one assist, while Clark had a goal and one helper. Haley Register (Simpsonville, SC/Mauldin HS) recorded 11 saves in goal for Catawba. Alesia Jerrells had seven goals for Erskine, including three in the opening five-goal spurt. She also handed out four assists. Samantha Burns had five goals with Denise Zani adding three.
