Toole's Penalty Kick Lifts Women's Soccer to Win at Mars Hill

MARS HILL, NC -- Catawba grabbed a 1-0 win over host Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Friday night at Mears Stadium.  The Catawba Indians improve to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the SAC, while the Lions fall to 4-6 and 1-3.

Catawba's lone goal came in the 76th minute as defender Anna Toole (Greenville, SC/Mann HS) converted a penalty kick.  It marked the third straight win for the Lady Indians and the second straight in the league, both by the same 1-0 count.

The Lady Indians held a 17-7 edge in shots and 8-4 on those on goal.  Catawba also earned 11 corner kicks, including nine in the second half.  Mars Hill had three corners.  Angelica Pawlowski (Las Vegas, NV), had four saves in goal for the Lady Indians to record the shutout.  Chelsea Parker made seven stops for Mars Hill.

Catawba returns to Frock Field on Wednesday, hosting Pfeiffer at 7 p.m.
