SALISBURY, NC -- Lincoln Memorial posted a four-set win over host Catawba in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at Goodman Gym.  The Lady Railsplitters improve to 15-8 overall and 7-2 in the SAC, winning by the scores of 25-20, 27-29, 26-24 and 25-14.  The Catawba Indians fall to 7-10 and 4-5.

Blaire Fowler (Fort Worth, TX) collected a match-high 19 kills to lead LMU.  Casey Mense (Murfreesboro, TN) and Allison Beavers (Tomball, TX) each added 11 kills, while Kaitlin Walton (Muncie, IN) chipped in with 10 kills.  Mense also served up three aces and had 11 digs.

Kaitlyn Whitmer (Ferrum, VA/Franklin Co. HS) led Catawba with 14 kills and picked up 13 digs.  Carson Brewer (Raleigh, NC/Middle Creek HS/Cape Fear CC) and Alli Parrish (Zebulon, NC/Smithfield-Selma HS) each recorded 12 kills.  Libero Jenny Young (Roanoke, VA/Henry HS), who broke the school record for career digs in the match, had 27 digs and served three aces, while setter Kaytee Frabotta (Sterling Heights, MI/Henry Ford II HS) handed out 43 assists with six kills, 10 digs and an ace.

With the opening set tied a 10-all, Mense served a pair of aces in a 5-0 run that pushed LMU up 15-10.  Catawba closed to within 23-20, but kills from Mense and Brittany Pugh (Farmersburg, IN) closed out the set for the Lady Railsplitters.  LMU led 20-17 in set two before consecutive kills from Frabotta tied it at 20-all.  Frabotta gave the Lady Indians their third set point on a kill for a 28-27 edge and a combo block from Parrish and Emily Richardson (Salem, VA/Salem HS) closed out the set.

An ace by Richardson had Catawba up 23-19 in set three, but LMU clawed back to pull even at 24-all on consecutive kills by Fowler.  After an error by Catawba, Beavers killed off the set.  Lincoln Memorial used a 7-1 run early in set four and went on to take the set on a kill from Kaitlin Walton (Muncie, IN).

Catawba will be on the road for its next four matches, first traveling to Tusculum on Friday for a 7 p.m. match.
