Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, TN -- Tusculum posted a 1-0 win over visiting Catawba in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday night at Pioneer Field.  The Pioneers improve to 6-6-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 7-4-3 and 2-2-3.

Tusculum scored the match's lone goal in the 38th when Andre Bissmark banged home rebound off an initial blocked shot.  A stout Tusculum defense limited the Indians to just three shots with only one of those on goal.

Catawba goalkeeper Frankie Cardelle (Salisbury, NC/Salisbury HS) collected three saves.  Andy Goellner made one save for the Pioneers in picking up the shutout.  The Pioneers put four of their 11 shots on goal and drew eight corner kicks to just one for Catawba.

Catawba travels to Mount Olive for its next match on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
