Women's Swimming Top NC A&T; Fall to Campbell


BUIES CREEK, NC -- The Catawba women's swim team split results in a meet at Campbell's Johnson Natatorium on Friday night.  The Catawba Indians defeated N.C. A&T 164 to 74, but fell to the host Camels 137 to 103.  The Lady Indians won seven of the 13 events, including six of the 11 individual events.

Katia Kruglov (Karmiel, ISRAEL/Ort Kramim), Palmer Benson (Mocksville, NC/Davie Co. HS) and Nadine Brockmann (Hamberg, GERMANY/Osselzsky) each won two events.  Kruglov and Brockman teamed with Janin Kassner (Giesen, GERMANY/Andreanum) and Leah Constan-Tatos (Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA/St. Andrews) to win the 200 free relay in a time of 1:42.22.

Kruglov picked up her wins in the 200 free (1:59.71) and the 500 free (5:29.89).  Benson won the 50 breast (32.56) and the 100 breast (1:11.64).  Brockmann took honors in the 50 free (25.20) and the 100 free (54.40).  Brockmann's times ranked eighth and sixth on the all-time charts, respectively.
