Walker Adds Three to Football Staff
Catawba Head Football Coach, Curtis Walker, has announced several coaching changes heading into the 2013 season. Remaining on the staff is offensive line coach Brian Hinson and defensive line coach Radell Lockhart. Joining the Indian coaching staff is Kevin Brown, Chris Collins and Jordan Smith.
Brown returns to Catawba after coaching alongside Walker for 15 years at Catawba and Coastal Carolina. He will serve as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Collins, who will coach the defensive backs and serve as co-special teams coordinator, was on the staff with Walker last season at Western Carolina. During his playing career, he was an All-Southern Conference performer at linebacker for the Catamounts.
Smith, who will coach wide receivers and also be co-special teams coordinator, coached with Walker at Western Carolina last year. He was also an assistant at Appalachian State, where he graduated in 2011.
