Football Announces 2014 Schedule Highlighted by a Trip to Western Carolina

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College has announced its 2014 football schedule which includes a pair of games against NCAA I competition.  The Catawba Indians open the season against Davidson and follow that with a trip to Western Carolina.  Catawba will also play non-conference games against UNC Pembroke and North Greenville.

The Indians will face Davidson for the first time since 1987 to open the season on Sept. 6.  The next weekend, Catawba will travel to Western Carolina to face a Catamount team it has not played since 1969.  The order of the remaining games are the same as last season with the game sites reversed.  Catawba opens league play at Newberry on Sept. 20 and faces Carson-Newman in its home opener on Sept. 27.

The Carson-Newman game will occur during Family Weekend.  The Indians host Brevard on Oct. 25 for Homecoming.
