McCray Earns Spot on 49ers Roster
Catawba's LJ McCray has made the final cut for the 53-man roster in San Francisco. The rookie is a back-up safety for the 49ers and will see action on special teams.
After playing the second half in the opening preseason game for the 49ers, McCray had seen limited action the next two games. On Thursday, he played the majority of the game in both the secondary and on special teams, where he recorded one tackle.
Former teammate, Jumal Rolle, was released by the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. He could return to the practice squad if not picked up by another team.
