Women's Soccer Falls To #16 Limestone 2-0

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The 16th-ranked Limestone Saints claimed a 2-0 win over visiting Catawba in women’s soccer action on Tuesday night at Saints Field.  Limestone improves to 14-1, while the Catawba Indians fall to 6-7-2.

Limestone dominated the shot total 26-3 against a Lady Indian squad resting for its regular season South Atlantic Conference finale on Friday.  The Saints opening the scoring just three minutes in on a goal from Millie Shaw.  Limestone clinched the match with just nine remaining when Megan O’Connor’s goal made it 2-0.

Liz Nail (King, N.C./W. Stokes) recorded eight saves in the opening half of action for Catawba.  Shannon Hardy (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road) stopped two shots in the second half.  Meredith Bailey had one save in posting the shutout for Limestone.   

Catawba will host Lincoln Memorial on Friday afternoon at 3 pm.
