Women's Golf places second at Patsy Rendleman Inv.

SALISBURY, SC – The University of Central Arkansas shot a second day 328 and held off host Catawba by five shots to claim the championship of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational Women’s Golf Tournament which concluded Tuesday at the 5,855-yard, par-72 Crescent Golf Club. Sarah Bonner, of N.C. State, claimed the individual medalist honor, shooting a one-under-par 143 for the two rounds. Joining Bonner on the all-tournament team were teammates Colby Cobb, Erica Wein and Ashley Dean, along with Wingate’s Daniella Kessler, who was runner-up on 148. Central Arkansas had built an 11-shot lead after the opening round, but Catawba cut six strokes of the lead with a school-record round of 322 on Tuesday. Anderson had the best second round with a 318 to place third. Catawba sophomore Paige Haverty tied the school record with a 73 in the final round and set a new mark with a two round total of 152.
