Moore, Barts and Coltrane Post Career Lows at Pfeiffer Inv.


HARDEESVILLE, S.C. -- Catawba stands in seventh place among 17 schools after Monday’s opening round of the Pfeiffer Invitational.  The tournament will conclude on Tuesday at the 5,800-yard, par-72 Hilton Head Lakes Golf Club.

Sophomore Madison Moore (Westfield, N.C./E. Surry) is currently in ninth place as she led Catawba on day one with a career-low of 74.  Freshman Kaley Barts (Apex, N.C./Apex) is a shot back in 19th after her career-best 75.  Freshman Sarah Coltrane (Asheboro, N.C./SW Randolph) also posted a career-best with a 77.

West Georgia and Wingate share the first-round lead as both teams posted a 292.  King is five shots back.  Catawba carded a 306.

Wingate’s Cristina Casanella holds a one-shot lead after a two-under-par 70.  She leads a trio of West Georgia golfers, Lolo Uribe Astolfi, Layne Marie Carter and Jordan Taylor, along with Matilda Wahren, of Mount Olive.
