Women's Soccer Announces 2017 Schedule
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba College Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Nick Brown, has announced the 2017 schedule for the Catawba Indians. Catawba is coming off a 6-8-3 campaign in 2016 that saw the Lady Indians finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference.
Catawba opens its season in Wilson, N.C. with a first-ever meeting with the University of Missouri-Saint Louis on September 1. Following a match with Barton on September 3, the Lady Indians will host Limestone on September 6 in its home opener at 7 p.m.
“We are really excited about our 2017 schedule,” stated Brown. “We were a very young group in 2016 and we want to build upon some of the success that we had last season. After a successful spring season in which our group displayed a lot of growth, I can't wait to get the group back to start the 2017 campaign.”
The Lady Indians will play 11 of its 18 matches at home in 2017 with nine of those coming over an 11-match span from September 6 through October 11. Catawba starts conference play at home against Lenoir-Rhyne on September 13.
“The SAC schedule is tough every night and we know that all of those games will be a battle,” continued Brown. We put together a challenging non-conference schedule which will prepare us for SAC play. We are very blessed to have a great group of players in our program who are extremely motivated and dedicated to taking the next step forward in our development. 2017 should be a fun season for us.”
