Coleman Named Assistant Coach for Track & Field
Jason Bryan, Catawba College Head Coach for Cross Country and Track & Field, has announced that Max Coleman will be joining the program as an assistant coach. Coleman comes to Catawba from Transylvania University and will coach sprints, hurdles and jumps.
“We are exciting to have Coach Coleman joining us and looking forward to having someone with his experience and enthusiasm lead our sprinters and jumpers,” exclaimed Bryan. “I think that with this being a new program it is vital to have good people leading, and I believe we have found that with Coach Coleman!”
Coleman spent one year at Transylvania after two years as a graduate assistant at Springfield College. He has coached All-Americans in the 100m hurdles, 60m hurdles, 60m dash and the men’s long jump. A 2014 graduate of High Point University, Coleman earned a degree in physical education. He earned a masters in physical education at Springfield in 2016. Coleman has been certified in strength and conditioning by the USTFCCCA.
“I am excited to be back in the area after competing here collegiately,” said Coleman.
