Mulkey Fires Career-Low 69 to Finish 11th at King Inv.
BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Catawba shot a 286 in Tuesday’s final round of the King Invitational men’s golf tournament and moved up to an eighth-place finish. The tournament was held at the 6,474-yard, par-70 Country Club of Bristol.
Tyler Mulkey nearly posted a top-ten finish as he carded a career-low 69 on Tuesday to finish in 11th spot with a 143 total. Trey Burton and Wes Cline each had one-over-par 71s on in the final round to tie for 22nd on 146.
North Greenville posted a 277 team total on Tuesday to overcome a two-shot deficit after round one to win the team title with a 562 score. Southern Wesleyan was four shots back in the runner-up position. Evan Gfeller, of North Greenville, took medalist honors with rounds of 68 and 65 for a 133 total. He topped King’s Alex Summers by two shots after Summers fired an eight-under 62 Tuesday.
