Men's Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision at Anderson
ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson claimed a 2-1 win over visiting Catawba in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer action on Saturday night at Trojan Stadium. The Trojans improve to 6-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the SAC. The Catawba Indians drop to 1-6-1 and 1-5-1.
After a scoreless first half, Anderson grabbed the lead five minutes into the second half. Gabriel Homen was able to head home a pass from Colin Burris from about 10 yards out. The Trojans added a second goal in the 70th minute with a goal from Burris.
The Indians denied Anderson the clean sheet with a goal from Nathan Robbins in the final 30 seconds. Tom Joyce picked up an assist.
Joe Gonzalez recorded seven saves in goal for Catawba. Gal Elyashiv stopped four shots for the Trojans.
Catawba travels to Wingate for a match on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
