Women's Cross Country Moves Into Regional Poll
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Catawba College women’s cross country team has moved into the top 10 of the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional rankings. Catawba is 10th in this week’s poll.
“It’s very exciting to see the program getting recognition,” said Head Cross Country Coach Jason Bryan. “But we are looking to finish the season in the top ten of the region so we know we still have to take care of business next week at regionals.”
The NCAA II Southeast Regional Meet will take place on the morning of Saturday, November 4 at Wingate University. The Catawba women were 12th among 27 schools at last year’s regional.
“I believe this is the first time in a long time the women’s team has been regionally ranked,” continued Bryan. “This is all a credit to the girls buying in and working hard every day at practice. The girls are a family. They pick each other up when they are down and are together all the time. That makes it a lot easier to run hard for each other.”
