King Posts Two Wins In Swim Meet at Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Catawba fell to host Limestone in both men’s and women’s swim action on Saturday afternoon at the Timken Aquatic Center. The Saint men took a 136-104 victory, while the women earned a 142-103 win.

Michael King earned a pair of individual wins for the men. He took first in the 1000 free (10:15.23) and the 500 free (5:01.64). Joao Barreto claimed the top points in the 100 fly (52.32) as did Federico Borrego Higareda in the 200 IM (2:02.22). The team of Gatlin Saylors, Lucas Rhodes, Matt Arnold and Lukas Helbing grabbed the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:31.34.

Higareda picked up second place swims in the 100 back (53.85) and the 200 breast (2:13.63). Saylors earned a second in the 200 back 2:02.56).

The women posted three individual wins. Claire Featherstone took top honors in the 100 back (1:02.74), Oryan Malul in the 200 fly (2:20.42) and Taylor Fair in the 200 back (2:14.89). Fair had a second in the 200 IM (2:15.43) and Featherstone went second in the 50 free (25.94).

Regan Nolan had second place swims in the 1000 free (11:29.68) and the 500 free (5:33.51). Lea Hartwig took second in the 200 free (2:25.41), Jess Daniel in the 200 fly (2:21.80) and Natalie Standard in the 100 fly (1:02.46).

Catawba will next swim at home against Barton on Friday at 4 pm.
