Women's Lacrosse Sets Scoring Record in Romp Over Felician
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba cruised to a 24-1 win over visiting Felician in women’s lacrosse action on Monday afternoon at Shuford Stadium. The 24 goals set a new Catawba record for goals in a game, breaking the old mark of 22 set in 2015 against Brevard. The Catawba Indians improve to 3-4, while the Golden Falcons fall to 0-3.
Fourteen different players scored goals for the Lady Indians, who led 15-1 at the break. Felician tallied its lone goal just over four minutes into the game on a free-position shot by Christianna Louzan that made the score 3-1.
Nicole Hunt scored three goals and picked up three assists in the win. Christina SanGiacomo also had three goals. Gianna Pezzulo added two goals and three assists, while Imani Grays scored once with three helpers.
Madison Anselmo and Grace Brennen shared a half in goal for Catawba. Anslemo had the lone save as Felician managed just four shots. Qamar Smith stopped eight shots for Felician.
Catawba will host Chesnut Hill on Wednesday at 3 pm.
