Men's Soccer advances to SAC semifinalsSALISBURY, NC Catawba College scored four first half goals and cruised to an opening round win in the 2003 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Mens Soccer Tournament at Frock Field on Tuesday night. The Indians, the tourneys third seed, advance to a Saturday semifinal date with the winner of the Presbyterian/Newberry match. The semifinals and final will be held at Newberry College in Newberry, SC. With the 4-0 win, Catawba improves to 12-5-1 on the year, while Lenoir-Rhyne ends its season at 6-9-4. Brennan Regner (Mebane, NC) scored the first of his two goals just 2:30 into the match to spark the Tribe. The senior to a cross from freshman Nathan Zuzga (Troy, MI) and headed home a shot just inside the back post. In the ninth minute, Zay-Zay Gilewala (Monrovia, LIBERIA) tallied his team leading 15th goal of the season. Catawba would add two more goals before the half hour. Regner stuck for his second in the 24th minute, marking his 12th of the season. Zuzga would close out the scoring in the 29th minute on a strike from just outside the penalty box for his 10th of the year. Catawba out shot the Bears 19-5 with Carl McMahon (Sydney, AUSTRALIA) and Matt Student (Drexel Hill, PA) being untested in net in the shutout. Tom Skora (Boca Raton, FL) had seven saves for Lenoir-Rhyne.
