Men's Soccer places pair on All-State team

GREENSBORO, NC Catawba College placed two players, sophomores Kenny Crowe (Reeders, PA) and Zay-Zay Gilewala (Monrovia, LIBERIA) on the inaugural North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Men's Soccer Team. The team consists of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals. NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams. Crowe, of Pocono Mountain High School, and Gilewala, of Don Dosco High School, represent the South Atlantic Conference Tournament champions on the all-state squad. Crowe, a first-team All-SAC selection and All-SAC Tournament pick, scored six goals from his sweeperback position and helped the 14-5-1 Indians to six shutouts. Gilewala, a forward, earned first-team All-SAC honors after leading his team with 35 points on 15 goals and five assists. Both were also members of the NSCAA All-Southeast Region squads. (CATAWBA) F - Tim Imafidon, Sr. (Guilford) Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information. NCSSIA will select all-state teams for softball and baseball in the spring. #####
