Football Scrimmage Notes From Saturday

Catawba held its second preseason intersquad scrimmage on Saturday morning as the team prepares for the football season opener on Sept. 7 at home against West Georgia. The defense shined for most of the day, but Demonte Good ran for 45 yards and a score for the offense in limited action.
The second team offensive provided a 45 yard scoring drive as well. Deland Thomas produced a pair of catches.
Jeremiah Ferguson was in on eight tackles, which included a pair for losses, to spark the defensive unit. Landon Johnson had a stop for loss among his five tackles and John Oxce had two tackles and one for a loss.
Jeremy Harvey notched an interception late in the scrimmage and Adam Rowson recovered a fumble. Newcomer Joe Camara made a pair of tackles.
Another scrimmage is set for Wednesday at 5 p.m.
