Tuck Leads Offensive Explosion in 5-3 Victory
Salisbury, N.C. -- It was an offensive explosion for the Catawba men's soccer team (3-2, 1-1 SAC) on Wednesday night as they defeated USC-Aiken 5-3. The Indians had four different goal scorers, with Keenan Tuck having two of his own.
A total of eight goals were scored on the night and two players had multiple goal games. Ranaldo Bailey scored twice in the first half for the Pacers keeping the game close as the score at the half was 3-2. As mentioned previously, Keenan Tuck also had two goals for Catawba to help lead them to the win.
Borja Gaspar started the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute on an assist from Carson Talboys. Bailey then scored the next two for USC-Aiken to put them ahead 2-1. The Indians would bounce back however as Tom Savigar scored in the 38th minute to tie the game at 2-2.
Hunter Faust would end the first half with a goal to put Catawba ahead once again. The second half saw Tuck's two goals in the 67th and 70th minutes to put the game out of reach. The Pacers put one in the net late in the second half to make the score 5-3.
Said Tuck of his team's performance, "offensively we did well, we created a lot of chances...still a lot to work on but tonight was well."
The Indians take the field again this Saturday when they host Shaw at 1 pm.
