Coltrane Takes Runner-Up Finish at Battle at Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Catawba senior Sarah Coltrane finished runner up at the Battle of Hilton Head Women’s Golf Tournament, losing on the second playoff hole to Tove Rosengren, of Missouri-St. Louis. As a team, the Catawba Indians were third at the tournament, which concluded on Tuesday at the 5,934-yard, par-72 Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes.

Coltrane followed her opening even-par with a 75 on Tuesday, while Rosengren had rounds of 74 and 73. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Ainee O’Connor also got into the playoff, following a 75 with a final round 72 to leave all three golfers at 147 and a shot ahead of three others. Coltrane and Rosengren birdied the opening hole to eliminate O’Connor.
