Sands and Clark Join Catawba Football Staff
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba Head Football Coach, Curtis Walker, has announced that Everette Sands and Pat Clark have joined the staff as assistant coaches. Sands will serve as the Co-Offensive Coordinator and Special Team Coordinator while also coaching the running backs. Clark will coach the cornerbacks.
Sands comes to Catawba from Coastal Carolina where he worked as an analyst and with the tight ends. Prior to Coastal, Sands enjoyed three years at the University of Texas at San Antonio, helping the Roadrunners to the 1016 Gildan New Mexico Bowl, the first in the school’s history.
Sands had tutored 1,000-yard backs at four different schools, including at South Carolina, where he mentored the likes of Marcus Lattimore, Mike Davis, Brandon Wilds and David Williams. He also enjoyed stints at N.C. State and The Citadel.
Clark joins the Catawba Indians from Webber International where he coached the defensive backs and was the defensive passing game coordinator. Prior to Webber, Clark was Assistant Head Coach and defensive coordinator at Sandalwood High School.
At Sandalwood, he led a defense that finished near or at the top of the Gateway Conference. One of Sandalwood’s standouts, Chris Jones, went on to play cornerback in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals.
