Crile Nabs Initial SAC AstroTurf Football Special Teams Player of Week Honor

Crile, a sophomore from Duncan, S.C., led the Catawba Indians to a 37-27 season opening win over Erskine last week. He was perfect on his kicks, going 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 43-yard go-ahead boot in the fourth quarter. He also added field goals of 31 and 25 yards, while going 4-for-4 on extra points. He finished the day accounting for 13 of Catawba’s points. Crile also averaged 48.5 yards on four punts, including a long of 68 yards.
Redwine, a sophomore from Gate City, Va., led the Cavaliers to the 54-0 win over Virginia-Lynchburg to open the 2021 season. He threw for 326 yards, connecting on 24 of 34 pass attempts with six touchdowns. Redwine’s six touchdown passes falls just one touchdown shy of the SAC and UVA Wise single-game touchdown record, while setting a new NCAA Division II era program record for touchdown passes in a game at UVA Wise.
Taylor, a freshman from Charlottesville, Va., posted a team-high seven tackles with a pair of sacks to lead the UVA Wise defense to a 54-0 win over Virginia-Lynchburg. He was part of a defensive core that set a SAC record of 13 team sacks in a single game. In addition to his seven tackles and two sacks, he added a forced fumble, one of three by the Cavalier defense.
