HEARN SCORES SEVENTH GOAL IN FIELD HOCKEY LOSS TO RMCASHLAND, VA -- Randolph-Macon scored a pair of early goals and went on to defeat visiting Catawba 3-1 in field hockey action on Wednesday afternoon. The Catawba Indians fall to 3-5, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-6. Lindsay Walker and Kate Savage scored in the opening 15 minutes to stake RMC to a 2-0 edge. Susan Hearn (Charlotte, NC) tallied her team-leading seventh goal of the season seven minutes into the second half to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Morgan Hutchinson regained the two-goal edge for the Yellow Jackets with 13 minutes remaining. Hutchinson also had an assist for RMC, while Ashley Crouch made eight saves in goal. Megan McCullogh (Fredericksburg, VA) made three saves in the opening half, while Heather Kick (White Plains, MD) recorded six saves in the second half.
