CATAWBA ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR LIVE VIDEO STREAMING OF EVENTS IN 2012-13The Catawba College Athletic Department has announced it will offer live video streaming of many of its home athletic events this coming sports year. The streams will be available through StreamVuTV and for at least in the short term, free of charge. The initial broadcasts are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8, a soccer doubleheader beginning at noon , followed by the football home opener with Livingstone at 7:00. Plans are to have a full video and audio broadcast of most the this season’s football, soccer (men and women), volleyball, basketball (men and women), baseball, softball and lacrosse (men and women). “We are pleased to be moving into the video streaming world,” said athletic director Dennis Davidson. “This program will not only be great for our out of town alumni and fans, but will be helpful for parents of our student athletes as well. Also, it becomes an additional recruiting tool.” Davidson acknowledged the efforts of the Catawba sports information office, Jim Lewis, director, and David McDowell, assistant, for getting the project started. More information will be available on www.gocatawbaindians.com when details are finalized. |
