ANDERSON GETS PAST WOMEN'S SOCCER 1-0

SALISBURY, NC -- Anderson snapped Catawba's three-match winning streak, handing the hosts a 1-0 defeat in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Frock Field.  The Trojans improve to 3-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the Lady Indians fall to 3-3 and 0-1.

Jessica Kleinberg scored the lone goal of the match with just under 30 seconds to go in the first half.  Anderson countered after a Catawba corner kick with 45 seconds left.  Heather Hooper got to the clearance and sent a ball ahead to Kleinberg who out-raced the Catawba defense and beat Lady Indian keeper Angelica Pawlowski (Las Vegas, NV/Bishop Gorman HS).

Catawba held a 9-3 edge in shots, but could not beat Trojan keeper Kaitlyn Neipp, who made a pair of saves.  Marissa Johnson made the biggest save for Anderson as she cleared a shot off the goal line in the first half and the game scoreless.

Catawba travels to Lenoir-Rhyne for a 5 p.m. match on Wednesday, then returns home to Frock Field next Saturday to face Newberry at noon.
