It has been just two weeks since the Catawba College Athletics Department launched live video webcasts of its home events. Catawba started off strong with viewership totals over fifty people for each soccer event and 250 viewers for the Catawba Indians Football season opener against Livingstone College.
Spectators who have seen a live broadcast or have read about the new video program should be familiar with StreamVu (note the spelling). StreamVu is a company that has partnered with Catawba to host all of its athletic video broadcasts.
Assistant Sports Information Director David McDowell spoke about StreamVu: “StreamVu is more than just a video partner to our school, but more like the backbone to the broadcasts. Prior to our partnership, the broadcasts would have been just one camera angle with no audio at all. Now we have more options than we ever imagined.”
Currently, Catawba webcasts have the potential of full audio commentary and up to four camera angles. The multiple angles are recorded and produced through the Mobile Studio provided by StreamVu, and then uploaded directly to the web through a hand-sized box called the Producer’s Unit.
StreamVu aims to be the perfect solution to your church or sporting needs in broadcasting. For more information about StreamVu, go to www.streamvu.com or contact David McDowell at email@example.com.
