WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS ON LATE GOAL AT TUSCULUM

GREENEVILLE, TN -- Catawba's upset bid at Tusculum ended in the final minutes as the Pioneers pulled out a 1-0 victory in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Field.  Tusculum improves to 11-1-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 8-6 and 3-4.

Trameka James followed up her own rebound that hit off the post with just over two minutes to play to give the Pioneers the lone goal of the defensive struggle.  Catawba put just one of four shots on target, while Tusculum had five of 12 shots on goal.  Each team had five corners.

Catawba keeper Angelica Pawlowski (Las Vegas, NV/Bishop Gorman HS) made four saves in her final match for the Lady Indians before heading to Hungary to play for Poland in the FIFA U-19 European qualifier.  She will rejoin the squad before the SAC Tournament.  Marissa Williams had one save for the Pioneers.

Catawba will host Lees-McRae in a non-conference match on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
