SWIMMING FALLS TO EAST CAROLINA, GETS WINS OVER LIMESTONE
SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba hosted East Carolina and Limestone in swimming action on Friday afternoon at the Johnson Pool. East Carolina came away with wins over Catawba and Limestone, while the Catawba Indians were victorious over Limestone. East Carolina topped Catawba 73-22 and Limestone 80-15 in men's action and won over Catawba 86-9 and Limestone 80-15 on the women's side. The Catawba men topped Limestone 61-34 with the women claiming a 48-47 victory. East Carolina won all of the women's events, while taking nine of the 11 events on the men's side. Holly Berenotto (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) claimed two individual events for the Pirates. She won the 200 free (1:54.73) and the 100 free (52.86). Nikola Simic (Nori Sod, SERBIA) claimed two wins for the ECU men, claiming wins in the 50 free (21.59) and the 100 free (46.71). Limestone picked up a win from Lance Maxwell (Vienna, AUSTRIA) in the 200 free (1:41.16) with Catawba getting a win from Sebastian Holmberg (Akersberga, SWEDEN) in the 200 IM (1:54.25). Holmberg took second in the 200 back (1:54.76) with Catawba's Jevgenij Gamper (Vilnius, LITHUANIA) touching second in the 200 breast (2:11.22). Holmberg broke three school records which came in the 200 IM, 200 back and 100 back (55:74). Emily Reh (Yuma, AZ) had seconds in the 200 free (1:55.95) and 100 free (53.46) for the Limestone women.
