The Catawba College Cheerleading squad will hold open tryouts for the 2017-2018 season on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the Abernethy Physical Education Center. Tryouts will be held at 5:00 pm with check in beginning at 4:45 pm.
Tryouts are open to all current Catawba college students in good academic standing / judicial standing as well as accepted students (freshmen and transfer). Both men and women are encouraged to try out for positions on the squad for the 2017-2018 season. Participants must show proof of insurance and acceptance to Catawba College in order to tryout.
Tryouts will include all components of cheerleading, such as cheering, motions, jumps, stunting, dance and tumbling. All participants must sign a waiver/release form listing insurance provider and policy number. If under 18 years of age a parent or guardian must also sign the waiver/release form.
A prospect clinic will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 5 pm to allow all interested participants to work with the coaching staff and the 2016-2017 squad in preparation for tryouts. The clinic is not required in order to tryout; however, all potential cheerleaders are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
Tryout and clinic registration forms can be found below, as well as the waiver/release form:
