NewsLong Named Catawba College Athlete of the Week (10/21/13)

2012-13 AT CATAWBA:
Played in all 10 tournaments with an 81.2 stroke average over 20 rounds … led team at four tournaments … finished 10th at the BSC Ann Rhoads Invitational ... was 11th at the Rendleman Invitational with an opening round of 76 to equal her career low … also finished 11th at the Tusculum Fall Classic where she shot a 77 in the first round ... had two sub-80 rounds and was 13th at the McAmis Memorial ... finished 18th at the SAC Championships with an 80 in the middle round.

2011-12 AT CATAWBA:
Teed it up in every tournament and had a 82.10 stroke average over 21 rounds … led the team at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate and the Kiawah Island Invitational … posted her low round of 76 at Kiawah and finished 19th … was 15th at the SAC Championships with a final round of 77 … closed with a 79 at the Tusculum Fall Classic and was 17th.

2010-11 AT CATAWBA:
Played in all ten tournaments with an 85.3 stroke average over 21 rounds … led team at two events, finishing 14th at the Agnes McAmis Memorial and 19th at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational ... her low round of 77 came in the second round of the South Atlantic Conference Championships where she finished 30th … fired an opening round 78 at the Rendleman … was 20th at the Tusculum Fall Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Played at Forbush High School where she was the 2A Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year … also named the Falcons team MVP and played basketball and softball … helped Forbush to conference titles in both golf and softball.

PERSONAL:
Born Leslie Brooke Long on Jan. 9, 1992 in Winston-Salem, NC … daughter of Mitch and Sue Long … her dad played baseball at Surry Community College …physical education major with a good 3.11 GPA in spring semester.
