Goodall and Macdonald Named All-SAC in Men's Tennis

ROCK HILL, SC -- Catawba seniors Jess Goodall (Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA/Northcliff) and Alex Macdonald (Lowen Hutt, NEW ZEALAND/Hutt International) have earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors in men’s tennis.  Both earned second team singles honors, which was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Women's Tennis Takes 5-4 Win at Mars Hill, Men Fall 5-4

MARS HILL, NC -- The Catawba women's tennis team pulled out a tight 5-4 win at Mars Hill, while the men fell in a 5-4 match against the host Lions in South Atlantic Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Center.  The Catawba Indian women improve to 15-8 overall and 5-4 in the SAC, while Mars Hill is 1-10 and 1-5.  Catawba's men fell to 12-11 overall and  3-6 in the SAC, while the Lions are now 3-8 and 2-4.

Tennis Teams Cruise Past Brevard

SALISBURY, NC -- The Catawba tennis teams claimed victories Saturday afternoon over South Atlantic Conference opponent Brevard at the Johnson Tennis Center.  Both Catawba teams won by scores of 6-3.  Catawba’s men are now 12-10 overall and 3-5 in the SAC, while the women are 14-8 and 4-4.  The Brevard men are now 2-14 on the season and 0-6 in conference play while the women fall to 3-11 and 1-5 in the conference.

Men's Tennis Drops 6-3 Decision at Newberry

NEWBERRY, SC -- The Catawba College men’s and women’s tennis teams split decisions with Newberry on Wednesday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action at the Cannon Tennis Courts.  The Catawba Indians fell 6-3 in men’s action.  A third set tiebreaker won by Catawba’s Ally Prior (Raleigh, NC/Wakefield HS) decided the women’s action at 5-4.  The Catawba men are now 11-10 overall and 2-5 in the SAC while the women improve to 13-8 and 3-4.  The Newberry men improve to 11-7 and the women fall to 11-8.  Both Newberry teams are 4-3 in the SAC.
